Ezra: Rebuilding Under God's Good Hand

We wonder whether God has lost interest in the Church and question whether it will last. We grow discouraged over who is in authority- God or the government. We worry about whether we can continue in our own walk with Christ, especially with how difficult things are personally. 
We wonder whether God will take us back when we’ve sinned so grievously… At a time when all hope seemed lost for the wayward and exiled people of God, the Lord makes a name for himself by redeeming his people from exile and rebuilding his house, his temple. The events of Ezra stand as a testimony to God’s faithfulness, mercy, and power to dwell with his people despite opposition and bad circumstances. Though the Israelites did not see their troubles end, the way was prepared for God to once again redeem his people for good through Jesus Christ and create a new and living temple that would last forever. 

This often neglected book solidifies our confidence in God’s love and might in what he has done, establishes our faith for what he is presently doing, and raises our anticipation for what he will do on behalf of his wayward but dearly loved people.
